Weather officials are warning of a winter storm that is expected to bring freezing rain, sleet and snow to much of Kentucky and parts of Tennessee.
The National Weather Service says a winter storm warning is in effect for most of Kentucky for Sunday and early Monday. An ice storm warning is in place for southwest Kentucky.
West Tennessee also is under a winter storm warning, with counties in Middle Tennessee under a winter storm watch.
Meteorologists say snow and ice accumulations could pose travel hazards in the affected areas. Power outages also are a possibility.
In Lexington, up to five inches of snow and less than an inch of ice are possible.
In Memphis, officials say trucks carrying salt and sand are ready to deploy if necessary.
