Why Didn't I Think of That?

By Alan Lytle

Lexington, KY – Central Kentucky Inventors Council president Don Skaggs says the theme this year is "The Power of Connections".

"It's for really anyone who is interested in inventing, or is an entrepreneur. Whether you are an experienced inventor or even if you are new to the whole world of inventing, we cover all the bases."

Skaggs says a lot of great ideas are generated and shared with the public at the annual gathering.

"We have what I like to call our QVC poster child, Rob Vorhees. He's the inventor of the "Sure Stake". He had a problem with his dog, always pulling the stake out of the ground if he tied the dog out in the yard or whatever and he actually invented a stake that the dog could not pull out of the ground. As simple as it may sound, sometimes it's the more simple inventions that do the best."

The free event is from 6 to 9 pm Tuesday night at the Central Branch of the Lexington Public Library.
