Vice Mayor Gorton Stepping Down At The End Of Her Term
Lexington Vice Mayor Linda Gorton says this will be her last term serving with the Urban County Council.
At press conference earlier today, the long-time public servant said she will not be running for re-election, opting instead to spend more time with her family.
Gorton is in her 16th year in city government, serving most recently as Council At-Large as well as four terms representing the Fourth District.
She was instrumental in the passage of Lexington’s no smoking ordinance, the first of its kind in tobacco-rich Kentucky.
