Veteran Journalist Says Fancy Farm Necessary Crucible For Senate Candidates

Aug 2, 2013

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- If you are a political junkie or you just like to feast on mouth watering Western Kentucky barbecue there’s really only one place to be this weekend.   Saturday's Fancy Farm picnic in Graves County draws thousands of folks for a fund raiser for Saint Jerome’s Parish and of course features highly partisan stump speeches from politicians across the commonwealth.  Al Cross, the director of UK’s Center for Rural Journalism and Community Issues has been making that trek for years.  He spoke Friday with WUKY's Alan Lytle about what to expect this year.
