Very Hot Weather Settles in to Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Dangerously hot weather is forecast in Kentucky and forecasters have issued heat warnings in the western half of the Commonwealth.

The National Weather Service says high temperatures near 100 degrees are expected in western Kentucky and an excessive heat warning has been issued as far east as Owensboro and Hopkinsville.

A heat advisory is in effect for the midsection of the state, including Louisville and Bowling Green and up the Ohio River Valley, taking in Covington and Newport. Highs in the mid-90s are expected in the advised area.

A special weather statement also cautioned of hot and humid conditions in the Bluegrass region around Lexington, with expected highs in the lower 90s.
