UK Vocal Group To Take The National Stage

Nov 18, 2013

A University of Kentucky a cappella group will soon be lending its sound to the fourth season of NBC’s vocal talent competition show The Sing-Off.

The upcoming season of The Sing-Off will feature UK’s own acoUstiKats as one of the 10 groups competing. The group, which is described as “southern charm with a whole lot of swag,” was founded in 1993 as an offshoot of the UK Men’s Chorus.

On the show, each a cappella group will perform numbers with no lip-synching, backup bands, or safety net and face the scrutiny of a panel of celebrity judges: Ben Folds, Jewel, and Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men.

The premier airs on NBC December 9th.
