UK Tops MSU To Reach SEC Semifinals

HOOVER, Ala. - Jerad Grundy worked six innings and allowed only one run while fanning a career-high nine and  Kentucky got four hits – including three doubles from senior Thomas McCarthy – to post a 5-1 win over No. Mississippi State to clinch a berth in the Southeastern Conference Tournament Semifinals at Regions Park.

UK gets a day off on Friday and will take on the winner of Mississippi State versus LSU Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.

The victory improves Kentucky's overall record to 43 and 15.  One more win will set a school record for most victories in a single season.
