UK Tailback Josh Clemons Out For The Season

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Some bad news for the UK football Wildcats, sophomore running back Josh Clemons is out for the upcoming season with an Achilles heel injury. 

Josh Clemons will likely miss the entire 2013 season with an achilles heel injury.  He was hurt for most of the 2012 season with a knee injury as well.

“We are extremely disappointed for Josh because he has worked so hard and come so far,” Coach Mark Stoops said in an official release. “He ran well during the spring and was eager to contribute this season. We are hopeful for a full recovery and look forward to his return to the field.”

Clemons missed most of the 2012 campaign with a knee injury as well.  He rushed 10 times for 56 yards and caught two passes during the Blue/White Game.

In other football news, the Wildcats’ season opener against Western Kentucky University will be shown on ESPNews.  The game gets under way Saturday August 31st at 7 p.m. eastern time at LP Field in Nashville. 

The Hilltoppers came into to Commonwealth Stadium and upset the Big Blue on a trick play in overtime last year.
