UK Students Head Back To Class

Aug 28, 2013

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The fall semester is officially underway at the University of Kentucky…Karyn Czar has more on the first day of classes.

“anybody care for a water?”

Heather Waogner and other staff members with the Division of Student Affairs are on hand across UK’s campus…handing out water along with maps and directions to students as they head to their first classes.

“greeting the students…help yourself to a water…yes sir…greeting the students.  Certainly helping if there are any questions.  We get a lot of ‘where’s the Reynolds building?’ so certainly just trying to support the students as they kick off the semester.”

Senior Ben Stowe already knows his way around campus.  He came to UK from England to finish his communications degree.  His favorite thing about the UK on the other side of the pond?...

“I love the college sport atmosphere cuz I don’t get that in England and I’m an athlete here…what’s the difference between football and FOOTball?...you chase an egg we chase a ball”

UK boasts a record high enrollment of African-American, Hispanic, out-of-state and international students.
