UK President Blogs For Huffington Post

LEXINGTON, Ky. - University of Kentucky students and staff may notice a familiar face among the blogger profile photos on the Huffington Post.

UK president Eli Capilouto has agreed to blog for the highly-trafficked news site about issues involving higher education. University spokesperson Jay Blanton says the site was interested in featuring new perspectives on how universities can adapt to tight budgets while staying affordable.

"This housing initiative that the president is leading and undertaking certainly fits all those criteria and all those standards because it speaks to trying to move quickly and affordably to build the kind of hi-tech living and learning centers that students want and expect," Blanton says.

In his first post, Dr. Capilouto highlighted UK’s partnership with a private development firm to replace aging forms on campus. Blanton says the president is not receiving payment for the blogs.
