UK Hoops Loses Another Player To Injury
UK Hoops Coach Matthew Mitchell's bench got a little thinner on Sunday. Senior Samantha Drake is out for the rest of the season with a torn ACL.
Drake, a 6-foot-3 forward, injured her knee in the first half of Sunday's game against Central Michigan. She has seen action in all four games for the undefeated Wildcats (4-0), averaging 5.0 minutes per game. She has played in 88 career games with 23 starting assignments and holds career averages of 3.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.
According to the UK medical staff, surgery should be expected in the next few weeks. The normal timetable for recovery is estimated at seven to eight months.
