UK Football Coach Joker Phillips Sees Chemistry In New Team
LEXINGTON, Ky. - UK football coach Joker Phillips is praising the chemistry he’s seen so far in this year’s team.
Hopes are not high for the Cats in the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division this year, but Phillips took time during UK’s Media Day press conference this morning to highlight the leadership he says is emerging on the team – a list of players he says has doubled since January. In order to keep the team focused, Phillips is even banning players from posting on Twitter until August 15th.
"We got better things to do. We've got a lot of work to do. I told our freshmen 'Say goodbye tonight to your Twitter fans,'" he said.
Phillips also said corner Marcus Caffey will be academically ineligible to play this season. Also, defensive back Shawn Blaylock is slated to undergo knee surgery, preventing him from playing as well.
