The state’s flagship university has entered into a partnership agreement with colleges and hospitals in Eastern and Western Kentucky to address a physician shortage across the Commonwealth.
President Eli Capilouto says UK,WKU, Morehead State, St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Kings Daughters Medical Center and Bowling Green Medical Center will work together to create a satellite medical training program. Capilouto says the College of Medicine is operating at capacity and the partnership agreement will allow the best and brightest across the state receive quality medical training closer to home.
Details are still being worked out but they hope to have the new program in place by 2018.
