UK Cancels Late Afternoon Classes, Sends Some Employees Home Early
The University of Kentucky has canceled classes after 3 p.m. Friday and dismissed some employees early in anticipation of icy weather.
Here's the official announcement from UK:
Due to anticipated inclement weather, classes at the University of Kentucky beginning at 3 p.m. and thereafter are canceled today, Friday, Dec. 6. Employees will be dismissed at 3 p.m. with the exception of those affected by Plan B.
If employees must travel a considerable distance, please consult with your supervisor about the appropriate time to leave.
UK HealthCare hospitals and clinics will remain open on their regular schedules.
The residential dining facilities at Blazer, Commons, Student Center Food Court and Ovid's will operate on a normal schedule. All other dining facilities will close. Visit www.uky.edu/DiningServices for more information.
The Johnson Center will close at 3 p.m. The UK Student Center will close at 3 p.m.
In addition, the UK School of Art Open Studio Event, scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight in the Reynolds Building has been postponed. Reschedule date, TBA.
UK Theatre's production of "A Christmas Carol" for Dec. 6 has been postponed to Dec. 8. Those tickets will be honored at a 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8 showing.
