UK Assisant Basketball Coach Arrested For DUI

By WUKY staff

Lexington, KY – Police say Rod Strickland ran a red light at Tates Creek and New Circle Road, and refused a breathalyzer after failing a field sobriety test. A statement released this morning from Dwayne Peavy, of UK Media relations says "This is a legal matter and we are still gathering information about the alleged incident. We take such allegations seriously and will handle appropriately once the facts are known." Strickland, a 17 year NBA veteran, was convicted of drunken driving in 1998 and 2001, and was acquitted of another DUI charge in 1999.
