Two Miners Missing After Roof Collapse In Western Kentucky

Murray, KY – Mine Safety officials report 2 miners missing after a roof collapsed Wednesday night some 500 feet below the surface of the Webster County Dotiki mine. Rescuers efforts to contact the miners so far have failed. Ricki Gardenhire with the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet says the search for the miners is still considered a rescue operation. Oklahoma based Alliance Coal operates the mine along with eight others in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland and West Virginia.
