Two Americans Confirmed Dead In Brussels, Lexington Native Remains Missing

Associated Press

Two Americans have been confirmed to have been killed in this week's Brussels attacks, a senior U.S. official told NBC News on Friday.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, identified the two people killed as Sascha and Alexander Pinczowski, a missing brother and sister from New York City.

The source did not say whether they were killed during the twin bombings at the city's airport or the blast around one hour later at a downtown metro station. A tweet from someone identifying herself as the girlfriend of Alexander Pinczowski says the two were in the departure hall of the airport when the blast went off.

At least four Americans have not been seen since the attacks on Tuesday. The missing include a Lexington native and her husband.  Family members of the Stephanie and Justin Schults, the couple with Kentucky connections, have travelled to Brussels to search for the pair.
