Today's Forecast: HOT

By AP

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – All of Kentucky is under a heat advisory and forecasters are cautioning that people take care out of doors and care of each other.

Louisville expects air temperatures around 97 degrees Friday with heat indexes around 104 degrees. The expected values in Lexington are 94 degrees with indexes into the 100s.

The National Weather Service cautions that weather this hot is especially dangerous for the young and the elderly. The prolonged heat is the problem.

Forecasters advise drinking plenty of water, avoiding caffeine, stay out of the sun when possible and checking on the welfare of relatives and neighbors.

Scattered thunderstorms coming on Sunday and into next week will cool the state.
