Threatened Snowstorm Prompts SOAR Postponement

Due to forecasts of up to a foot of snow in the region, the Shaping Our Appalachian Region (SOAR) Strategy Summit scheduled for Monday in Pikeville has been postponed.  Nearly 1,000 people were pre-registered to attend, with more expected to sign up at the door.

“Our first priority is keeping our citizens safe, and it won’t be safe to have people traveling tomorrow if this storm comes through,” said SOAR Executive Director Jared Arnett.  “We will announce a new date as soon as we can.”

The SOAR office will keep the list of pre-registrants and their $10 fees and will roll them over as registrants for a rescheduled Summit.

People who pre-registered for the event who are seeking refunds may email the SOAR office beginning tomorrow through the SOAR website at www.soar-ky.org/contact/.
