Lexington, KY – Fayette County Public Schools will consider five candidates to become the next superintendent of the school district. A screening committee narrowed the pool of applicants from 14 to five Wednesday night.
Next week, the committee will meet with the Fayette County Board of Education in closed session to discuss the top candidates and determine how many to interview.
Current superintendent Stu Silberman is retiring after seven years with Fayette County. He will go on to serve as executive director of the Prichard Committee, a non-profit education organization.
