Students to Hold Free Car Care Clinic

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Lexington motorists can benefit from a free car inspection this weekend conducted by Fayette County students at Eastside Technical Center.

Under the guidance of the Professional Master Technicians Association, students in the automotive classes will check the basics such as oil level, antifreeze, transmission fluid, hoses, electrical wires, and tire pressure. Eastside instructor Bobby Riddle says it's a great way for the students to learn and meet working professionals.

"A lot of job placements come out of this. I have guys from [the] industry that request students from our classes to come work for them later on in the year when they start to complete our program. And the students just get a huge amount of information out of this and they all have such a great day."

Riddle says the car clinic is only for diagnostic inspections, and no repairs will be made. The free event starts at 9 a.m. Saturday at Eastside Technical Center, 2208 Liberty Road next to the district bus garage.
