State Auditor Gives Leadership Advice to Public Policy Students

By WUKY Staff

LEXINGTON, Ky. – A day after she released a scathing report on Passport Health Plan over questionable spending by company executives, state auditor Crit Luallen had some strong advice for future leaders. Luallen spoke Wednesday night to students at UK's Martin School of Public Policy and Administration.

"Adhering to strong personal values has to be more than avoiding using a public credit card for strip club visits. That's really lowering the bar. Having strong leadership values has to extend to making the difficult decisions necessary to build a better future in every community."

Luallen says since taking office, her staff has referred more than 190 cases to law enforcement agencies. Her speech was the first in UK's Leaders in Public Policy series.
