A familiar scene repeated itself at a Kentucky courthouse: a gay couple marched into the clerk's office and requested a marriage license. But Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis' office again defied court orders and turned them away.
The standoff has now reached its second month.
The U.S. Supreme Court, which legalized gay marriage across the nation, will now be asked to consider whether Davis can cite her religious conviction and deny marriage licenses until her appeal is complete. She has refused licenses to any couple, gay or straight.
David Ermold said "it's getting tedious." He and his partner, David Moore, have been rejected by Davis' office twice.
The American Civil Liberties Union sued her last month on behalf of four couples as the legal dispute continues.
