Spring Concert To Benefit Church Choir Scholars Program

image provided

UK Opera and Music Department singers and instrumentalists will be lending their talents for a good cause this weekend as part of the annual Spring Concert at Hunter Presbyterian Church in Lexington.  The event is a fundraiser for the church's choir scholars program which provides a stipend to students who regularly perform there.

"Good music is very important to the congregation at Hunter," said organizer Barbara Rogers. "We like to be able to support our scholars as they deserve to be supported, but we have a small church budget, and so this is a way we, from time to time, manage to raise some funds to pay their salary," Rogers told WUKY.

The selections will include everything from opera to the Broadway stage.  The concert is Saturday April 14th at 5 p.m. at Hunter Presbyterian Church, at the corner of Nicholasville Road and Rosemont Garden.  Complimentary childcare will be provided.
