Search Continues For Missing Kentucky Hikers

An Oregon State Police and Kentucky State Police are trying to locate a Kentucky father and his adult son.

The father's car has been found abandoned along a highway near Oregon's Mount Hood.  Lieutenant Gregg Hastings says the silver 2012 Kia Rio had been parked for about a week along Highway 35 near a trailhead in Oregon's Hood River County when it was checked by state police last Friday.  Hastings says there was a significant amount of hiking equipment inside.

Police say family contacts advise that the car's owner, 59-year-old John Kevin Wood of Bardstown, Kentucky, most likely was accompanied by his 32-year-old son, Jason Wood.  The men live together. Relatives and neighbors haven't seen them since mid-August.

Kentucky State Police have listed the two as missing.
