School Board Gives Shelton High Marks In First Report Card

Jul 24, 2012

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The new Superintendent of Fayette County Public Schools has received his first year report card.

Tom Shelton received high marks from school board members in Shelton's first evaluation since being hired last year.

Shelton started his tenure in Lexington with a 100 day entry plan and recommendations to establish goals in student achievement, engagement, and staff development.

Board members said Shelton met or exceeded expectations in all eight areas of his evaluation, with management being his greatest strength.

Like other Fayette County Public School employees, Shelton will receive a two percent pay raise.
