American Becky Holder, who is no stranger to the Kentucky Horse Park course, rode 14-year-old Thoroughbred gelding Can’t Fire Me into second place.

“I do love the Horse Park.  I have had such memorable events here. ... The fan base that’s here that welcomes the thoroughbreds with such open arms, the course here is a galloping horse’s course, and I just really think that this event needs to be won by an off-the-track thoroughbred.”

Canadian Shandiss McDonald, on Rockfield Grant Juan, is in third place.  The equestrian competition continues through Sunday at the Kentucky Horse Park.
