Lexington, KY – One of the more popular disciplines featured recently during the World Equestrian Games will now be included in this year's Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event. Spokesman Marty Bauman says an FEI sanctioned, World- level Reining competition will be held in the Alltech Indoor Arena.
"This is a natural outgrowth that a lot of the people who come to Rolex to watch the eventing will be thrilled to have another world class equestrian discipline going on at the same time."
Bauman says the reining competition will include the crowd favorite, freestyle.
"It is set to music just like the figure skating freestyle, and the riders really get their horses going and they do the sliding stop and the spins, and all the favorite moves set to music and this will actually be the first time ever, that the FEI, the International Equestrian Federation will crown a world champion in freestyle."
The Three Day Event takes place April 28th through May 2nd at the Kentucky Horse Park.
