Rock & Roots Artist - My Morning Jacket, 'The Waterfall'

My Morning Jacket has built a reputation as a group who consistently challenges the paradigms in which they are placed. Since their start in 1999, the Louisville quintet has amassed over 2 million total albums sold, and received Grammy nominations for each of their last two. The New York Times wrote this about the band, “…the new kings of expand-your-mind, religious-experience rock…” and Rolling Stone named them as the "#10 Greatest Live Act”.

On May 5, 2015, My Morning Jacket will release their seventh full-length album, The Waterfall. Recorded in Northern California’s Stinson Beach, they gladly took the inspiration that it offered and crafted a sparkling new body of work.

MMJ is now more relevant than ever before in their career. Jim James’ involvement in The New Basement Tapes solidified his standing as a true musician’s musician, showcasing his wide-ranging talent as well as his charming personality. Simultaneously, a new crop of Alternative rockers like Tame Impala count the band as a key influence that helped shape their current sound. 2015 is the year that My Morning Jacket will gain the worldwide recognition they so clearly deserve. All early indication points to The Waterfall being their greatest success yet.
