LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky governor Steve Beshear will soon have some competition as he tries to win re-election next year. A news conference is planned Thursday afternoon to announce a republican ticket for governor.
Making the announcement will be David Adams, former campaign manager for republican US Senate nominee Rand Paul. Adams left the Paul campaign to head a GOP gubernatorial slate that he says embraces Tea Party principles.
"It's time to harness the energy of this grassroots movement that's gotten an awful lot of people worked up."
Adams says the republican ticket he's announcing Thursday features two men who are Frankfort outsiders and not part of what he calls the status quo.
