Phillips was announced on Tuesday as the winner of this year's National League Rawlings Gold Glove Award for defensive excellence at second base. This is the fourth time Phillips has won the award, having taken home the honor previously in 2008, 2010 and 2011.

Phillips becomes one of only five players in Reds history to win a Gold Glove Award four times, joining Reds Hall of Famers Cesar Geronimo (four), Joe Morgan (five), David Concepcion (five) and Johnny Bench (10).
