Lexington, KY – Pulitzer prize winning columnist Leonard Pitts Jr. delivers the annual Joe Creason Lecture Tuesday night at the University of Kentucky. He visited with Alan Lytle earlier in the day to preview the speech and discuss his latest column on Civil War revisionism.
Pitts' lecture, titled "Owning What You Know," begins at 6 p.m. in the Worhsam Theatre of the UK Student Center. His appearance is sponsored by the University of Kentucky School of Journalism and Telecommunications. It is free and open to the public.
Pitts is the second African American to deliver the lecture named in honor of Joe Creason, a Kentuckian who wrote for the Courier-Journal and The Courier-Journal Sunday Magazine.
