Provost Finalist: UK "Poised to Write Next Chapter in the History of American Universities"
LEXINGTON, Ky. - The third and final provost finalist addressed a forum at the University of Kentucky Thursday. Christine Riordan, dean of the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver, highlighted her areas of expertise, leadership development and workplace diversity, in her address.
One area where UK can grow, Riordan said, is in the area of interdisciplinary studies, which she described as crucial to preparing students to compete globally.
"Interdisciplinary is going to be the wave of higher education. Our students are asking for dual degrees, big problems like global health are being solved by the interdisciplinary work, and certainly as we think about what's going to be next, it's going to be our collective efforts that bring that together," Riordan said.
Riordan was the last of three candidates for the provost position to speak on campus. A final selection is expected by May 14th.
