Frankfort, KY – Vicki Phillips, education director of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and Ginny Edwards, Editor and Publisher of Education Week, are the featured speakers for the anniversary convocation. Prichard Committee director Bob Sexton says both are native Kentuckians. They're national figures, both from Kentucky, both well aware of what's happened in Kentucky. We want them to give us a perspective on what the future holds and what we should be looking at in Kentucky as we plan the next wave of reform.

Sexton says the Prichard Committee will discuss its new goal...for Kentucky schools to achieve a top 20 ranking by 2020. He believes the current economic climate may make achievement of the goal more difficult, but not unattainable.
