University of Kentucky police and the Lexington Fire Department responded to a second gas line break near the Haggin Hall at about 10:30 Friday morning.
The rupture occurred just across the street from where a natural gas leak occurred about two weeks ago. That break prompted the evacuation of the W.T. Young Library and surrounding areas and took several hours to repair.
But officials say the gas was turned off quickly this morning after Columbia Gas workers struck the line. The scene was cleared and no evacuations were necessary.
There were no reports of injuries.
