Northern Ky. Airport to Close One Area, Reopen Other

By Associated Press

HEBRON, Ky. – A northern Kentucky airport will close one terminal and reopen a concourse under a consolidation and remodeling plan that could cost up to $31 million.

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport chief executive John Mok says the project will "vastly improve the customer experience." He says Terminal 2 is antiquated and congested and that closing it and moving all airlines into Terminal 3 will make the airport more efficient.

Terminal 1 houses administrative offices.

The makeover plan for the airport in suburban northern Kentucky also will bring back and update Concourse A and its gates, which closed last year as Delta Air Lines cut flights and concentrated its operations in the newer, larger Concourse B. Delta is the airport's dominant carrier.
