Noel, Goodwin UK's Latest NBA First Rounders
BROOKLYN, NY -- Two former Kentucky Wildcats are waking up this morning as NBA first round draft picks. Forward Nerlens Noel had to wait a little longer than expected, but New Orleans made him the sixth overall pick, then later dealt him to Philadelphia.
"It's been whirwind but I'm definitely staying positive," Noel told NBA Network reporter Craig Sager. "I'm very blessed and fortunate to be in this position...I'm definitely looking for ward to getting to Philadelphia and just playing ball," Noel said.
Former Wildcat Archie Goodwin suffered a similar fate. Oklahoma City picked him in the 29th spot and then traded him to Phoenix.
Speculation on why Noel, a projected number one pick fell out of the top five selections centers around his surgically repaired knee. Noel says the rehab is going well and he should be cleared to play by December.
