Frankfort, KY – Before being elected to the Senate last week, Democrat Robin Webb of Grayson was first vice-chair of the House Appropriations and Revenue committee. She was hoping for a seat on the Senate budget committee, but Senate President David Williams says she didn't get it. "Everybody wants to be on A&R, but junior members don't usually get there on their first day here. It happens very infrequently."

Webb's committee assignments are Licensing, Occupations and Administrative Regs; State Government; and Economic Development, Tourism and Labor. In another legislative matter, the calendar for the 2010 regular session has been issued. The budget session begins January 5th and ends April 13th. Lawmakers will take two holidays during the 60-day session, Martin Luther King's birthday in January and President's Day in February.
