Frankfort, KY – More than one-point-three million Kentucky residents are now able to access broadband. But Rene True of ConnectKentucky says many parents are still reluctant to embrace technology, for financial and child safety reasons. "The parents may not fully understand the issues with cybersafety and may for that reason, not allow the kids to have a computer, have access to it. We don't want that to be an issue."

So, ConnectKentucky is partnering with the attorney general's Internet safety program called CybersafeKY. The partnership will expand and launch new programs this school year to instruct parents, teachers and children on technology use and Internet safety. Free regional workshops will be held this month in eastern and western Kentucky.
