MoveOn.Org To Hold Obama Event In Lexington On Sunday

Lexington, Ky – The political action group Moveon.org is holding an event in Lexington this weekend in an effort to show support for President-Elect Obama while also encouraging him to keep his major campaign promises. Regional Coordinator Debbie Stoops says people are invited to come to Common Grounds Coffee House Sunday from 1 to 5 pm, sign a petition, and have their picture taken.

Citizens will be snapped while holding a sign describing what they believe to be the most important issue the country is facing; such as healthcare reform, ending the war in Iraq, and rescuing the economy. Stoops says the photographic petition will then be delivered to congress in late January. President-Elect Obama will be sworn in on January 20th.
