Lexington, KY – Lexington Mayor Jim Newberry is registering displeasure that tonight's scheduled candidates' forum will include not only traditional journalists, but political bloggers as well. Newberry says his campaign has identified at least one such online commentator that has openly supported Vice Mayor Jim Gray.Kakie Urch, with the Scripps Howard First Amendment Center at the University of Kentucky, says, whether the candidates like it or not, political bloggers should have a seat at the table.
Mayor Jim Newberry, Vice Mayor Jim Gray, Former Mayor Teresa Isaac, and Skip Horine will answer questions from a panel of traditional and digital media representatives. The forum is from 6 to 8 tonight at Awesome Incorporated, a technology incubator on East Main Street.
