Local Business Leader Paul Miller Dies

The founder of the Lexington auto dealership Paul Miller has died at the age of 92.

A spokesperson said Mr. Miller was surrounded by his family when he passed away from natural causes earlier today.  Grandson J.P. Miller released this statement.  “This is a sad day for us as a family and for the many people who had the opportunity to know my grandfather,” said J.P. Miller Jr., Paul Miller Autogroup President and General Manager. “He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and the many people throughout Central Kentucky whose lives he touched. He leaves an unparalleled legacy of giving back to the community and of making the future brighter for many.”

Miller founded the dealership in 1953, initially in downtown, then against the wishes of the Ford Motor Company, moved to a new seven acre location at Man O’ War and Winchester Road where it remains today.  At the time other business owners and Ford reps told Miller the business couldn’t be successful that far away from town.  Miller made the move anyway and just last year, Paul Miller Ford celebrated their 50 year anniversary.
