LEXINGTON, Ky. – Officials with Fayette County Public Schools sent letters home Tuesday afternoon to the families of Bryan Station High School students after a loaded handgun was discovered at the school. An investigation was launched shortly after the start of school.
A news release from the school district says the student told law enforcement that he had the gun with him because of problems in his neighborhood, not because of anything that happened at school.
The Bryan Station student is charged with possession of a weapon on school property. He was taken into police custody.
