Lexington Shopping Center Gets New Owner

Hamburg Pavilion has sold for a record $185.7 million.

Fayette County Property Valuation Administrator David O’Neill believes the sale of the shopping center at the corner of Man o' War Boulevard and Sir Barton Way is the highest in Kentucky’s history.  “From as far as our records go, it’s a record in Fayette County.  I’ve been asking around the state and I found a sale for $128 million in Louisville awhile back for one of their high rises downtown so I believe it’s a state record.”

According to O’Neill, the properties which include all the stores north of Sir Barton Way except the Target store and parking lot, is the largest real estate transaction in the country.  It was bought by Starwood Capital Group, which owns $36 billion in real estate assets worldwide.
