Lexington Pools Now Accepting Plastic

lexingtonky.gov

It’s just about time to officially dive in to summer as area pools prepare to open their gates Saturday. And this year, the Lexington Parks Department has eliminated one particular inconvenience that has annoyed local pool-goers for more than a decade – the lack of a credit card payment option.

"It's been a burden for the last 15 years," Brian Rogers, Deputy Director of Enterprise at Parks & Recreation, says. "People have expected it and we've had several patrons walk in and then have to turn around and walk right back out again because they don't have cash or a check on them."

All of the city’s aquatic centers will open Saturday morning, but with school still in session, Rogers says they will close an hour early for the first week. Once summer vacation starts, the aquatic centers and pools will move to their normal hours.
