Lexington Leading Lady Returns To The Spotlight
LEXINGTON, Ky--After being sidelined for four performances because of a vocal cord injury…the lead of Studio Players ‘Always Patsy Cline’ is back to full voice.
She looks like Patsy Cline…she sounds like Patsy Cline…but who you’re hearing is local actress and singer Heather Parrish. Parish returns to the stage in the role that brought Lexington theater audiences to their feet in 2009…critics call her performance mesmerizing. Producer Ellen Hellard says a revival of the musical was a no brainer. "We had so many requests for bringing it back that we did. Luckily the two lady actors were still available and could do it and that's why we brought it back...to please our crowd.
Parrish co-stars with Melissa Rae Wilkeson who was also part of the original cast. Wilkeson brings to life the story of Louise Seger, a Houston housewife who befriended Cline when she performed in Texas in 1961. The two stayed close until the singer’s death two years later. Tickets for this weekend’s shows are on a stand-by basis.
