Lexington Fourth Of July Festival To Go On, Rain Or Shine
LEXINGTON, Ky. - City officials released a statement Thursday ahead of stormy weather predictions saying Lexington’s Fourth of July Festival will go as planned, rain or shine.
Still, planners will be keeping an eye on weather conditions. The statement says the city will "postpone or cancel certain activities throughout the day if weather becomes threatening."
Downtown Lexington Corporation is urging residents to use their best judgment when deciding whether or not to attend the Festival. The announcement says the city will defer to Zambelli Fireworks on postponing or delaying the fireworks display scheduled for 10 p.m Thursday.
A rain date is scheduled for Friday, July 5 at 10 p.m. For information on changes to the schedule visit www.downtownlex.com.
