Legends Gearing Up For Fan Fest

Mar 9, 2012

LEXINGTON, Ky.  Central Kentucky sports fans will likely stay glued to the tube all weekend long, but there will be a few breaks in the action for other activities.  The Lexington Legends hope a sizable contingent show up for the annual Fan Fest event at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

“Fan Fest is the way we mark the occasion that our individual game tickets are going on sale for the first time.  So for the first time fans can actually come in and choose a particular seat for a particular game.  The Legends play a 70 game home schedule and this marks the start of the individual game ticket sale so we like to make it a fun event as well", said Legends play-by-play announcer Keith Elkins.

"There will be lots of things going on here at the ballpark.  There will be some free food inside the Kentucky Ale Taproom, there will be tours of the ballpark, fans can have a personal baseball card made while they wait and we’ll have some inflatables out for the kids to have fun with, and we hope we have some nice baseball-type weather for this event.”

Elkins says there will be plenty of TV’s tuned to the SEC tournament while the Wildcats are playing so fans won’t miss a minute of the action from New Orleans.  The event is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
