Frankfort, KY – State Republican Party chairman Steve Robertson has released a letter from the attorney general's office confirming the existence of an investigation of Senate Minority Whip Joey Pendleton. But Allison Martin of the AG's office says Robertson made public what was considered a private correspondence. "The attorney general has said that he is not going to politicize this case, no matter what other individuals choose to do, and he is not going to publicly confirm or deny the existence of an investigation."
The Republican Party claims Senator Pendleton has been double dipping, by collecting salary from Murray State University while he was in Frankfort for legislative duties. The allegations have been strongly denied by Pendleton and Murray State. Last week, voters sent Senator Pendleton back to Frankfort for a fifth term.
