Ky GOP Spokeswoman Charged With DUI
FRANKFORT, Ky.-- The spokeswoman for the Republican Party of Kentucky has been placed on two-weeks of unpaid suspension after being arrested over the weekend on a charge of driving under the influence.
State GOP Chairman Steve Robertson told the Lexington Herald-Leader that 23-year-old Kelsey Christine Cooper "obviously made a mistake" before being arrested Saturday in Lexington.
Cooper was hired by the Republican Party earlier this year. Fayette County jail records show Cooper was released Sunday.
Cooper is from Los Angeles. She worked as a communications desk coordinator for the 2012 Romney for President campaign and worked with Meg Whitman's unsuccessful campaign for governor of California in 2010.
